Diagram 1.0: The Periodic Table and how the Houses of Elements Standard is deduced from the Periodic Table

Diagram 2.0: The electron arrangement deduced based on the Houses of Elements Standard

Based on the deduction, C has 4 valence electrons and it is in period 2 as it has two shells filled with electrons. So, C is in Group 14 (4 valence electrons + 10), Period 2, p-block.
Diagram 3.0: The pattern of valence electronic configuration for Group 1 till Group 18 elements

Based on the deduction in Step 2 and the pattern of group 14 elements, C which is a period 2 element has the valence electronic configuration of 2s2 2p2

Diagram 4.0: Classification of the Periodic Table (metals, metalloids and non-metals)

For example, students could deduce C as a non-metal element as C is a Group 14 element.

Diagram 5.0: Summary of the general trend of electronegativity of elements

In this step, students are given a compound SOCl2 and were asked to determine which element in the compound is the least electronegative based on the position of the elements in the Periodic Table deduction using the House of Elements Standard.
